The Vessel Series
This series began when the Director of the Triton Museum, George Rivera, asked me to contribute my artwork to a "Halloween" benefit. The theme was to create a "Vessel" to hold Halloween candy, however, any artwork would gratefully be accepted. Well, I am no sculptor, but I valiantly created a mosaic "vessel" very similar to the "canoe" shape that I use in my paintings. At the time, however, I wasn't at all certain that my 3D piece would turn out, so I thought I'd better have a back up.

Thus the birth of the "Vessel Series". I began to wonder just what is a vessel and what its interpretations could be. The first painting, Into The Forest was one of those pieces that virtually painted itself, or as many artists say, "I just got out of the way and let the angels do the work." The vessel(s) seem to take us to a different place, and every individual viewer has his/her own idea of where that place is. It is not for me to say.
